Notes for Carpentry/Site 1 Licence Class applicants

Introduction

These notes will help you work through the forms for your combined application for the Carpentry and Site 1 licence classes. Please read through them carefully before you start filling in the relevant forms.

Your total application is made up of these completed licence class forms, plus:

  • the application form
  • any documents and supporting evidence that the forms ask for and
  • the total fees for your application.

Note: This is the application pack for the combined Carpentry/ Site 1 licence classes application only. If you wish to apply just for Carpentry or Site 1, or any other licence class, go to the Department's website at www.dbh.govt.nz/occupational-licensing or phone the Licensed Building Practitioner Helpline on 0800 60 60 50 for advice.

There are five parts to your combined Carpentry/Site 1 licence class application:

1. Work history
2. Referee contact details
3. Supporting evidence

Plus:

Carpentry part of the application: Site 1 part of the application:
4. Two project records (Projects 1 and 2) and a questionnaire relating to these projects* 5. One project record (Project 3) and a questionnaire**

* You only need to fill out this questionnaire if you do not have a relevant qualification or cannot provide a copy of it. The questions relate to your selected Carpentry Projects 1 and 2.

**All applicants must answer the Site 1 questionnaire. The questions relate to your selected Site 1 Project 3.

Each part must be completed before you send your application back.
