Investigation into timber allegations continues

The Minister for Building and Construction, the Hon. Maurice Williamson announced an investigation into allegations concerning the use of non-load bearing timber for trusses and frames.

The Department has been working with frame and truss manufacturers, suppliers, local building consent authorities and other industry representatives to investigate these allegations and assess the full extent of the problem. Guidance to building consent authorities has been distributed.

The Department expects to provide a report to the Minister before Christmas.
