Are you a tenant or a flatmate?
If you are a flatmate rather than a tenant, you may have different rights.
Flatmates are not covered by the Residential Tenancies Act 1986, which only covers tenants and landlords. This means the rights of flatmates are not as clear cut.
It’s important to know the difference between tenants and flatmates and how the Act may or may not apply to your situation.
