Product certification - scheme design
A trans-Tasman scheme
Product certification has been jointly developed with the Australian Building Codes Board. It operates under the brand name ‘CodeMark’.

While substantially the same in both countries, product certification allows for differences in the building codes of Australia and New Zealand. Further details are contained in the CodeMark Scheme rules
.
Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ)
JAS-ANZ has been appointed as the Product Certification Accreditation Body. JAS-ANZ will accredit product certification bodies who are responsible for evaluating and certifying that products or building methods comply with the Building Code.
Legislation
The Building Act 2004
and the Building (Product Certification) Regulations 2008
set the legislative basis for the product certification scheme.
