Unit Titles Act regulations consultation
Consultation closed: 10 June 2010
We would like your views on proposals for regulations to support the Unit Titles Act 2010 (the Act).
The Act provides a legal framework for the ownership and management of unit title developments by:
- providing for the creation of unit title developments
- requiring the formation of a body corporate to manage and maintain the development
- setting up a flexible and responsive regime for governing unit title developments,
- outlining the rights and responsibilities of unit owners and bodies corporate
- providing a disclosure regime
- providing for a dispute resolution service.
The purpose of this consultation is to get your views on proposals for regulations. In particular, we would like to know:
- what the details should be where certain matters need to be described in regulations (eg, body corporate rules, disclosure, body corporate meetings)
- whether regulations or consumer guidance is more appropriate in other cases (eg, long-term maintenance, additional governance requirements).
